Over 55 years ago, when SCAPA's “spirit” Arlette Van Oost was stranded on the Orkney Islands. Here she fell in love with the harsh, beautiful nature and the open mentality of the people. Inspired by the work of local knitters, she laid the foundation for an authentic Belgian fashion brand.
SCAPA quickly impressed with its casual, chic silhouettes that exude comfort and quality. And above all: timelessness. SCAPA gained mainstream recognition with hand-knit sweaters, plaid wool patterns and durable, high-quality fashion items and became a regular in British Vogue in the 1990s.
